How to bid with Sweetwater Authority

Construction projects	Notice Inviting Bids, with plans and specs free on the Authority's PlanetBids page. Bids are submitted electronically through PlanetBids.	Register on PlanetBids (Sweetwater Authority's portal) to download documents and bid. Check it for addenda before bid day.
Requests for quote (RFQs)	Listed with the construction jobs on the Authority's Bid Opportunities & Results page.	Watch that page. It also links to past awarded bids and results.
Services, supplies and equipment	The Authority keeps a vendor database covering over 80 types of services, supplies and equipment, used to reach vendors about contract opportunities.	Fill in the online Vendor Interest Form on the Authority's site.

The Authority's pages give no dollar thresholds for informal or formal bids.

Get on the list, step by step

1. Make sure your DIR public works registration is current. California requires it to bid public works, and the Authority's bid notices say so.
2. Fill in the Vendor Interest Form on the Authority's Information for Vendors page to join its vendor database.
3. Register on PlanetBids (planetbids.com, Sweetwater Authority's portal) to download plans and submit bids for construction jobs.
4. Read the Authority's Procurement Terms & Conditions with Insurance Requirements, and for water work its Standard Specifications and Design Standards, linked from the Bid Opportunities page.
